Regular Season Round 7: Voluntari - Groningen 97-91

An interesting game for RomanianVoluntari (4-0) which hosted in Voluntari 4th placed Dutch Groningen (2-2). Leader Voluntari managed to get a 6-point victory 97-91 . It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Groningen. Voluntari forced 21 Groningen turnovers. Strangely Groningen outrebounded Voluntari 32-20 including 21 on the defensive glass. American players dominated the game. It was a great evening for point guard Mike Caffey (183-1993, college: LBSU, agency: Players Group) who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points and 7 assists. Center Solomon Young (203-1998, college: Iowa St.) helped adding 15 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side guard Malik Miller (192-1999, college: Morgan St.) responded with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Austin Luke (191-1994, college: Belmont) scored 15 points and 7 assists. Four Voluntari and five Groningen players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Voluntari have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 4-0 record. Groningen at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with TalTech.
